The fifth swatch

For my 5th swatch i decided to work with lines and dots I took the inspiration for my 5th swatch from a parasitic plant that take all the necessary elements from the subject plant. I have used the thermacoal to depict the extracted essential material and dark green circles that depicts the jealous and greedy parasites that are extracting the important materials from the big circular subject. The lines present the movement of extraction.

The forth swatch

This time i wanted to use geometric shapes and for that i used circle, rectangle and triangle.
The pointed triangle depicted the harm they are causing to each other. The blue color rectangle show pandavas which depicts justice. The green color rectangle on the other hand is kaurvas colored by green to show injustice and jealousy. The red ball signifies how 'throne' is dominating their minds.
In this structure, I have tried to show greed, another side of thirst for money. I have shown a situation where people are killing each other to earn throne.

The ThirdSwatch

For the third swatch i decided to take the inspiration from my theme the fight for throne between the pandvas and the kaurvas. I made a throne to represent my concept and to show the fight i just used forks on the either sides of it.

The second swatch

The research further took me to depict my idea using the tug of war game. The game is all about pulling each other towards them by applying their power to the fullest and I decided to add my concept to it. I attached a currency to the rope that would clearly show my concept of greed by power. By using the torn currency i wanted to show the aggressiveness of people to get the currency which has occurred cause of the greed. This is the reason behind the torn currency. Instead of using anything figurative i have used forks to show the reflection of hand.

Exploration for my first swatch

As I was jotting down the things that depicted greed as per me, the one that struck my mind first was a game of greed. I got my inspiration from the game of snakes and ladders and simplified one of the base of a game and created a base of my own using coins clearly depicting my concept as coins are one of the thing that symbolizes greed. I piled up coins that would work as a winning reward for the players and i have used door magnet as it has a property to attract things that would depict the idea of greed by attracting the metal coins.

My journey of swatches

Now that the boards were over the next thing we have to do was to make swatches i.e samples, for that we were asked to scribble down the designs from our theme that depicted our essence and try to make them using various materials that conveyed our concept in a clear and harmony manner. I started to explore with colors and various materials, I started to paint and scribble down taking the charaview as my inspiration. For me anything that was scrap for others it was my next material to be explored. I enjoyed this part of work a lot as I got to come across many materials which I havent used before.

The Mood Board

A mood board contains the key things related to a topic. It was a hard thing to decide which aspect to be added and which must not. After deciding I added the pictures of Draupadi cheerharan, birth of draupadi, the fight between the kaurvas and the pandavas and many more.

The Material Board

The material board contains the materials with which we want to try our hand and must contain some extracts from our theme. I have used various materials that doesnt show my concept in a figurative way but on the other hand which has a reflection of it. The materials i have used is thermacoal balls, beats, plastic, dice, a simplified game structure and a crown.

The Color Board

In the color board we were asked to extract the colors from our topic that would show my essence where as must be a part of my topic.

I decided to make an abstract background with the colors I extracted i.e black, red, orange, yellow.
And i made the part from which i chose it i.e the game between the Kaurvas and the Pandavas

The Inspiration Board

The inspiration board is all about what inspired us to take a particular theme, topic or anything. We were asked to add the extravagant things that inspired us from our topic. I was quite clear with my matter of interest and started to jot down the main political elements that attracted me the most.

The first and the most important thing that made me choose this topic was the game played between the Kauravs and the Pandavas which was a trap for pandavas. The birth of Draupati to create a conflict between the Hastinapur's royal family. The cheerharan of Draupati to avenge the their father and their egos were the major steps which lead to such a great battle. The second thing that attracted me was the teachings of Krishna to Arjuna about life and the last and the foremost thing was the beauty of that era, their lifestyle, their principles.

Going off the deep end

While i was browsing over the google and turning over the leaves of books to hunt down something extraordinary the behind every deeds and the lifestyle they had, their practices and their principles.
While going through the topic I came across many interesting facts that were eye catching. Going through the topic put me into the deep enout Mahabharat. I wanted to know each and every aspect that brought a change in the scenario.
The great war happened in 3139BC, it was a fight for throne after the starting of the kalyug in 3102BC. It was fought in Kurukshetra popularly known as Mahabharata. It is all about moral resolution. It is not written and conveyed by single man but perhaps by 50 men who were worried about the morality and world. Mahabharata has more than 10000 characters and covered an area of 4 of the countries today.

introduction to mahabharat politics

Hey Everyone!                                                                                                                                             After a leap when we went to college with our trance mind we were unable to grasp what was being taught to us. Afterwards the briefing was given to us and there only my I started brain storming about the topic I would be working on. Many of the things strike my mind cricket..!! , fashion industry..!! , or something which is believed and followed but doesn't have any proof of it mythology..!! . I started jotting down the pros and cons of all the topics. All the topics that came to my mind were my topics of interest since my childhood. I decided to go with mythology the everlasting stories of people with incredible powers and a principle or a logic behind every deed. My further research lead me to go with Mahabharata, the battle for throne or for me it is politics. Clever moves for every deed, hunger for power and a revolution for the upcoming society. That's what made me chose this topic.
